Miss American Pie: Fresh and Fabulous Fall Wedding Ideas and Inspirations to Fall in Love With
Sep 19, 2018 10:00 AM Back
Summer is most certainly in the air here and in our hearts. But, for couples tying in the knot in the fall, autumn is already in the air.
Here are a few autumnal ideas and inspirations to fall in love with.
1. Organic Apple Escort Cards: Think about getting a bargain on bushels of apples from a local Long Island east end farm stand, place them in a metal bin and using hand-crafted cards, “transform” them into escort cards. You may even want to consider handing out small bags of apples as a parting gift.
2. Seasonal Settings: Ask your venue about using dishes adorned with seasonal scenery and linens and napkins in seasonal hues.
3. Seasonal Signature Drinks: Consider adult beverages with a seasonal twist using flavors such as apple, pumpkin, ginger, allspice etc. And, top it off with a copper and gold monogram or family crest.
4. She Wore Blue Velvet: Pick seasonal fabrics (such as velvet) for shoes, shawls, men’s blazers and sport coats, MOB and bridal party dresses, etc.
5. Polish with Pizzazz: Rather than traditional white or ivory, pick a polish (for fingers and/or toes) that is more seasonal than traditional.
6. Set Up An Outdoor Farmer’s Market. Make THIS part of your parting gift experience. Let guests meander through and pick out blooms, fruits and produce to take home with them.
7. Edible Arrangements: Consider a centerpiece made of fruits and edible florals.
8. Fireside Festivities: From an outdoor chiminea for your cocktail hour or a cozy fireplace where guests can enjoy and after party aperitif, it’s all very elegant and very seasonal.
9. The Pies the Limit: Set up a dessert table with seasonal selections. Think apple, pumpkin and coconut pies…and how about mini pies on a stick for the kids.
10. Serve Up Some Cider: From hot and cold to spiced and hard cider selections this seasonal drink will add an interesting and seasonal twist to your celebration.
11. Natural Selections: Use pumpkins and other nature-inspired items for décor and accents.
12. Heartwarming Menu: Create a menu around the time of year. Think pumpkin soup, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, etc.
13. Take the Edge Off: Fall days and evenings can be quite chilly….think about serving up some (gourmet) hot cocoa (especially for the kids)
14. S’more Please: How about roasting marshmallows or toasting up some s’mores (by a fire pit) for your big day.
15. Go to Hay with Yourself: Set up a hayride (or even or horse and buggy ride) for your guests. Not only will this offer some extra fun…but it will make for a great photo op.
